Fuel types
A person really needs heat for all life processes: for example, for heating a home, cooking, melting metals and obtaining other types of energy.
To obtain heat and light, a person uses fuel. When people first made fire, they couldn’t do without fuel either - they used wood. A fuel is any substance that releases energy through certain processes.
There are four groups of fuels:
- solid fuel,
- liquid fuel,
- gaseous fuel,
- nuclear fuel.
Solid fuels include :
- wood,
- oil shale,
- coal,
- peat.
